The kids had a half day of school Friday
so Ryan and I took off work also
and we finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch!
This October has been SOOOOO hot!
We had figured if we waited until later in the month
to do this little activity this year
that it might actually be be a bit cooler.
But nope.
So we sweated and had fun anyway!
Testing out our strength
The kids played a couple more games
So they did just that!
And then we loaded up the car free from fart sounds and words
and headed back home!
For 6 out of 7 of us...it was a great day at the Pumpkin Patch! lol :)
Mining for Gold
They took this very seriously!
Should I tell them it's just spray painted rocks?!
No honey you can't keep eating the gold!!
Laiklyn's always good to search for gold in the spots
we wouldn't think to look! ;)
Next up: Hay Maze
Sack Races
Then their fave spot was the go kart races
Laiklyn had to accept she wasn't big enough
and had to move over to the little kid lap area.
Taylee somehow scraped her heel
even though I had her wear boots just to avoid that situation.
But if there's one child that will get hurt,
it's her!
So she wasn't the happiest skeleton for awhile!
Good thing there weren't a lot of kids there this day.
Because it was competitive racing from my crew!
Finally Taylee shoved her wounded foot back into her boots
and joined the fun!
Petting Zoo:
Warning Picture Overload!
(c'mon how can you resist baby humans with baby animals!)
This is classic Laiklyn face.
She grits her mouth and pounds on stuff all the time! lol
Poor goat!
Ahhh nice soft hugs ... finally! lol
Lasso Practice
Surprisingly Ryan really did know how to lasso!
So did Kaitlyn!
Well at least she caught Ryan!
Which even amused Laiklyn!
Testing out our strength
Hay Ride time!
The girls helped drive!
When Laiklyn decides she's done.
SHE'S DONE!
Nothing will change her mind.
And if you try....more screaming will occur.
So we just smile and pretend that wailing child isn't ruining our afternoon.
And the screaming wouldn't stop...
but we took our dang family pumpkin patch picture anyway!
So we loaded back up onto the wagon ride
and she kept screaming for all to hear.
I guess it's not ok to skip naps after all!
Finally she gave up and laid on my shoulder for 2 seconds.
We had to document it since it's rare!
The kids played a couple more games
On the way out I told the boys this was an old fashioned out house
and to go pose by it and get out all their potty words before we drove home!!
So they did just that!
And then we loaded up the car free from fart sounds and words
and headed back home!
For 6 out of 7 of us...it was a great day at the Pumpkin Patch! lol :)
