Trunk or Treat

Date: Oct 24th

We just love Halloween
and dressing up!
Anden told me months ago,
"Mom just so you know I'm not dressing up like the family this year for Halloween"
um ok kiddo lol

Well a couple weeks before Trunk or Treat
we still didn't have any clue what our costumes would be.
Anden had decided he wanted to be a killer creepy clown.
At first I told him that might not be the best for the church party
with tons of little kids around.
But he was so excited about the costume that I said fine.
As for the rest of us, I still had no clue what we were going to do.
And then it dawned on me a week before the event
that we should just all be different types of clowns.
Ryan agreed so I rolled with it.
Now to convince Anden we're crashing his costume party!

So I braved the subject by starting out that he could still be the killer clown
but that we were all going to be different types of clowns too.
He smiled and said OK and ran back off playing!
lol well that was easy.

So over the next week I made 4 costumes.
It literally was down to the minute walking out the door before they were done
(like literally I did Ryan's makeup while we were driving to the church! lol)
but we pulled it off and were quite the hit!!

and then she realized her older brother had a huge knife at the back of her neck!

Ok honestly she could have cared less about the scary killer clown
pretending to decapitate her.
She was ticked she had to sit on that rock and act like a happy clown any longer!

This is what a half nap interrupted by two football games looks like...
one ticked off clown!
(and we haven't even started our night yet!! ugh)

The Crazy Clown Family
(and yes I know it's very fitting for us! lol)

Then we loaded up into our clown car
and sped to the church!

Friends

Laiklyn was totally content to cruise around shoving crumbs of cornbread into her mouth!
However most landed in her skirt.
(Mental note I should make her a tulle bib! It catches more than normal bibs!!)

We can't all be happy clowns!

After dinner they started the Trunk or Treat.
The older kids bolted with their friends.
So looks like Laiky Boo Hoo Clown was stuck with us!
We quickly realized dum dum suckers kept her happy and free of melt downs!

Do you think she's ready to go home?! lol

Yet somehow Laiky Boo Hoo got a second wind once we got home.
I'm sure the 5 suckers she ate had nothing to do with it! ;)

We finally got the layer of sticky off her face and dumped her in bed.
Then it was time to start the Candy Sorting Post Party!

Taylee rocked it this year! lol
And the poor thing is a saver like me
and will keep that candy for 9 months until it's rotten and has to be thrown away!

Ryan has graciously volunteered to help her "save" the candy from ending up in the landfill.

Happy Trunk or Treat
from our Circus to yours!
