Cub Scout Camp - Day 2
We all met at the church at 7am to start Day 2.
The boys were ready to roll!
First we started with fishing at the community pond.
They got instructions from Brother Chase and then grabbed a pole and spread out.
Although they were excited about fishing there was a bit of gloom in the air.
You see sometime during our activity last night
the enemy troop kidnapped Cubby!!!
So we were now on a rescue mission to save him!!
The boys were sent home last night with instructions in their bags.
So they were divided into their teams and ready to start the mission to find Cubby!!
We split into separate cars and the race began!
The clues sent us on missions all throughout Anthem.
We were instructed to take pics as we completed each mission.
The final clue led everyone back to the Community Center!
Each group raced around the Community Center to find Cubby.
The Kidnapper (aka Ryan) sent me a pic confirming where he stashed Cubby!
I was cracking up....
and so were all the other patrons wondering what the heck he was doing with a massive bear!
The boys had determined there would be "bragging rights" for whomever rescued Cubby first.
Well my Red Group got to the final location first.
And go figure it was actually my own son that found Cubby first!
My 5 boys were racing all around to find it.
Eventually Anden just stopped a random adult and asked if he had seen a big bear anywhere.
The guy told Anden, "Well I saw some guy walking around with one over that way".
And bingo Anden found it! lol
We instructed each group to leave Cubby as is until all the teams returned
and had a chance to find him.
After Cubby was rescued by all and safe,
the boys were able to rock climb and swim!
At noon we met at the picnic area and had snacks.
Then parents showed up and picked up their tired yet happy boys!

At one point I got an exclusive Amber Alert from Cubby that I forwarded to the other teams!
"HELP! COMPLETE YOUR MISSIONS AND SAVE ME!!"
Then the other teams sent us updates on their progress!

At this point I almost crumbled and died.
I had the WORST cold for 4 weeks and it really amped up during this weekend.
I had completely lost my voice while corralling and directing 24 boys for 2 days.
I had to lay down twice during the scavenger hunt to avoid passing out on my face.
Needless to say I was a mess! lol
So I went straight home and crashed on the couch.
Luckily the Hills took Anden and Taylee with them to Wet & Wild.
So I got a few hours of chill time before our next event!
But overall it was a TOTAL HIT of a camp!!
All the kids and parents loved it.
I was thrilled that it all came together when so many things kept falling apart!
And I'm even more thrilled that it's done! haha :)
