Babymoon

Date: July 8-10th

Ryan and I escaped without the kids for a quick weekend alone!
Call it a Babymoon or a Sanitymoon!
This summer has been nonstop busy entertaining the kiddos
So it was definitely much needed to get away just the two of us!

Friday night we headed to Oceanside, CA.

We didn't get in until way late and walked around and grabbed food at midnight.
That's new one for us! lol

The next morning we had breakfast then lounged at the beach.
Our hotel room view!
Ahhhh how can you not love ocean views?!

And the baby bump came with me!
(it's kinda a perm tag along at this point! ha)

Some quick pics in the lobby before we headed to the beach

It was a beautiful low 80s day with bright sunny skies and a cool salty breeze.
Gosh they're so spoiled with gorgeous summer weather there!!

We just lounged at the beach and walked along the shore.
Definitely a different experience when we're not chasing and entertaining kiddos!

I'm a bit self conscious to post these pics but since I documented all of my other baby bumps...
here's my 4th baby bump in it's 6 mos glory!
(yes people were probably wondering if they should roll the beached whale back into the sea! lol

We walked down the pier.
So crazy to think that last time we were here we were getting married!!
And now it's almost 3 years and 2 kids later!

And of course we ate whenever and anywhere we wanted!
It's a must to have fish and shrimp tacos!

Eventually we packed up and drove up to Thousand Oaks to see Jordan & Bree.
In my naive I'm from Arizona and have normal traffic foolishness,
I thought it would be fun to drive up the PCH and check out each beach town.
Well we quickly figured out that Saturdays in the summer (or probably any time in this dang state!)
are a horrific traffic jam tourist trap.
Needless to say we got off that road and found freeways to their house.
But not without spending 3.5 hours in the car! UGH!!!
I kept reminding myself but hey at least I don't have kids in the back
whining and complaining that I have to turn around every 2 mins to help! lol

So we rolled into Jordan's house with 10 mins to spare until our dinner reservation
back in Malibu.
Ya quick shower and raced back out the door.
We obviously didn't make the reservation but were able to still snag a table
and enjoy an adults only evening chatting away with the fam!

Then we cruised back to their house and chilled outside, roasted smores
and just chatted and laughed the night away.

Ryan was able to even befriend their cute but mental dog! haha

The next morning we headed out after breakfast
for the lovely 6 hour drive back home.
It was definitely a super quick getaway with a ton of driving!
But it was worth it!!
