Theater Makeover Reveal

Date: Feb/Mar

Yes I've had this room done since March/Apr!
But you know how life goes.
It's late August
and I finally got around to taking pictures and writing this post!!

I didn't want the traditional "theater" look for this room.
I wanted more of an Art Deco old school look.
So that was a bit harder to find the decor that I had envisioned in my head.
But eventually it all came together! :)

The Theater Makeover Reveal!

Before:

Remember I forgot to take a true "before" picture before the neighbors were hauling the old
big sectional out of the room!
So I hurried and took a pic midway.

What a sad bar top! lol

Oh that glorious paint job! lol

And the good ole beast of a sectional that had quite the long life with us got
relocated to the garage until it eventually moved into Poppy's apartment!

During:
As usual it's late night cell phone pics

Then I drew out plans for the Theater Chair Platform and handed them to Ryan.
"Here honey this is what I want. Please go build it." :)
At first he usually doesn't trust my design plans
but then realizes that I've scoured the internet and have thoroughly figured out
how HE can build this perfectly! haha
So he's learning to finally just trust the sketch/measurements/materials list I hand him!

I was ecstatic the day I left him, Poppy and the kids with some lumber and my plans
while I ran to an event and then I got this picture text saying
"ok your dang platform is done and carpeted!"
WOOHOO! :)

Painting the room from tan to gray.
This was the last room in the house with the old tan color.

Now the room looks like this!!!

After:

I still have a list of little things to finish off in there but overall
We love it!!

Too bad we have yet to actually sit down and watch a movie in there.
But hey it's become quite the cool hangout for Anden and his friends
to play Xbox on the huge screen.
Ok and let's be honest
Ryan and Poppy have also had their fair share of time playing video games in there too!

I'm all about having more places for friends and family to gather!
(especially one that I can send the rowdy kids upstairs! lol)
So come on over! :)
