Dec 23rd - Phoenix Christmas Morning

Date: Dec 23rd

To our complete surprise,
we woke up to find this!!

The kids came bolting into our room!!
And the race to find the clues began!

But wait we had to open one gift first...

A new Go Pro to document the day!
(and maybe one day in 2017 I'll have time to download & edit the footage!!)

Ok now clue hunting can begin!!

Poppy had just happened to spend the night with us.
So he got to experience the excitement (and chaos) of Christmas at our house!

Laiklyn got distracted and wanted to take a bath! lol
No honey, throw your clothes back on and let's find those Santa gifts!!

It had rained all night and was still sprinkling!
So back outside to find another soggy clue!

Wait up for me guys!
My legs aren't as long to climb these stairs! lol

TADA!!!!  SANTA GIFTS!!!
They each ran to their Santa sack and tore into them!

Laiklyn immediately found exactly what she asked for...
CANDY!!!

Anden and Taylee found exactly what they had asked for too!!

Laiklyn kept digging out more and more CANDY!!

Still working on the candy....

Anden literally SQUEALED with delight when he opened his laptop! haha

and still working on the candy...!

Taylee checking out her new soccer nets

Laiklyn's so happy with her candy that she doesn't even care
that she has unopened presents! ha

Finally Taylee stepped in and helped direct her to the other presents

Her own Elsa and Anna dolls

Taylee volunteered to help Eastlie open her Santa sack also

Oh so exciting...diapers and wipes! :)

Kids pose...except Laiklyn is more concerned about opening her CANDY!

The whole family!

You would think we were done with presents there....
but oh no we still had gifts under the tree!

Anden and Taylee quickly volunteered to sort the gifts

This year I did something a bit different.
Instead of me thinking of all the gifts then buying and wrapping them,
the kids had to think of what they wanted to give each person.
Then of course I did the buying and wrapping.
So we limited the tree gifts to one for each person from each person.
The older kids were excited because now they had some ownership as to what each person got.

Ok now let the room get destroyed with ripped wrapping paper!

Join the party anytime Poppy! ha

Helping Eastlie open her presents

And we're still not done!
On to the Stockings!

Laiklyn proudly showing us the gum she already devoured!

Decked out in new clothes, shoes and scooter!

All were happy with their gifts
and got way too much as usual!
But it was a great surprise of an early Christmas morning!!
