Gingerbread Houses

Date: Nov 28th
On Monday night we made Gingerbread Houses!
This is a family favorite activity.
There's always plenty of creativity, laughter and competition.

This was Laiklyn's first year on her own.
Basically her decorating went like...
"1 for my house and 3 for my mouth!"

I was on glue duty.
Well until I made Anden take over after he kept changing g his designs.
Cmon kid once the blueprints are submitted there's no alterations!

Papa Nolie happily volunteered for the first baby shift.
He later learned that didn't get him out of contractor duty.

Usually I'm helping a kid the whole time.
But this year I held a kid & still made my own house!

Good work Laiky!
Now spit out the candy stored in your cheeks!

Ryan refused to join the builders union and took on photographer duties instead.

The construction crew!
(and judging by that sad tree behind us we should probably finish the light construction there too! haha)

Anden turned his into a futuristic flying house!

Taylee worked meticulously on her 2 story chateau

Maybe Laiklyn wasn't the only one that ate her weight in candy!

Laiklyn finished hers first.
She crushed it.
Literally.

Then it was off to browsing phones for Laiklyn and Papa Nolie.

Anden and Taylee were the last to finish their houses.
Each trying to out-embelish the other! lol

Finally the finished products!

Taylee

Taylee was so proud of her work.
She definitely had the tallest structure!
But she might want to check on her roof warranty.
There's definitely a leak somewhere with that much snow inside the house!

Anden

I'll have to admit I was a little worried when he told me his design.
But that kid somehow pulled off one creative flying house!
Complete with headlights up front
(yes and it does look like those kind of headlights too! lol)
and safety features like the candy corn light beacons on the wings!

Laiklyn

Oh Laiklyn.
Your poor house looks like a construction site in South Phoenix.
Someone stripped the valuables and took off.

Mine

My quaint cabin is currently on the market.
Solid construction and symmetry.
The peanut siding is the feature that sets it apart.
Allergy prone buyers need not inquire.

Papa Nolie

He opted for a blinged out single wide trailer this year.
Complete with pumpkin KC lights on the front roof
and mismatched tires on the sides.
I especially like the efficiency of the unwrapped sixlets.
Just throw 'em on the top.

Ryan

And then there's Ryan's house.
It's the lot where Papa Nolie's trailer will pull up it's wheels and settle in for the winter.
