We packed the car to the ceiling (uh literally)
and hit the road at 8pm for good 'ole Idaho!
It was insane snowstorms all through Utah and Idaho that entire weekend!
In fact it was such a blizzard that church was cancelled all over Idaho that day!
Which that rarely happens!!
My parents were super concerned about us driving that night
and thought maybe we should wait a day.
But nope,
we were determined to trudge on through!
However we were watching the weather and being safe too.
We would be traveling right behind the storm the entire time instead of in it!
Phew!!
So with overly tired but excited children and a husband with a cane and bummed knee,
we took off for our annual Griswald Christmas Vacation!
3 weeks ago this trip was in jeopardy of even happening
after Ryan had his knee surgery.
We honestly didn't know if he would be able to make it.
Luckily he ended ups rehabbing quicker than expected!
I figured I would have to end up driving the whole way though since it's his right knee,
but he toughed it out and drove 95% of the way!!
We did make a 2am pit stop in St. George Utah to party it up
with my big bro Nathan at the gas station!!! lol
The drive was going smoothly.
Laiklyn only screamed for a few hours! UGH!!
But the other 3 kids were angels and slept awesome!
I drove the last few hours.
The sun rising over the fog at about the Utah/Idaho border.
Ahhh love it!
We rolled into Papa Nolie's house at 9am!
Phew somehow we survived another night time drive!!
The kids barrelled out of the car and right into a snow drift
for a big mouthful of fluffy deliciousness! lol
