Idaho Christmas Trip 2017 - 12/25

Date: Dec 25th

Last night I had told the kids that they had to stay in their room until 7am!
Well right at 7am ON THE DOT Taylee and Kyrrigan
were tapping on my head!
"WAKE UP MOM!! IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!"

I mumbled to go back to their rooms and I would come get them in a bit
once we got up.
Well I fell back asleep! lol
So at 7:30 came another not so soft tap on my head
"MOM WE'VE BEEN WAITING 30 MINS AND YOU NEVER CAME IN!"
Oops! lol
So we drug ourselves out of bed and by then the rest of the kids were awake too.

We made them wait though until Gravens woke up.
lol they were NOT happy about that!
But it worked out great as Papa Nolie came upstairs and got to wait with us!
Eventually we all headed downstairs to see what Santa had left!

Seeing these cute kiddos piled up waiting on the same staircase I did as a child
just makes me happy inside!

Once we let them off the stairs
they ran straight to the big window to ooh and aah at all the new snow!
Again, exact same thing I did as a kid.
You can't beat the magic of a fresh snow on Christmas morning!

This little doll just LOVES her blankeys!

We finally released the kids to find their Santa gifts.
They quickly found Elfy...snuggling with the Graven's Elf.
And wouldn't you know it he had a note with him!!
The kids had been asking if Santa would do a scavenger hunt to find their gifts
even though we were in Idaho.
I guess he did after all!

Eastlie got nominated to reach up and grab the note.
Really she just wanted the Elfs instead! lol

Anden got to read the first clue.
(rats I forgot to take pics of the clues afterwards before they got thrown away!)
The clues sent them ALL over Papa Nolie's house!
It was much harder for the kids since they're not familiar with every nook and cranny there! :)

The bigger kids took off running to the next clue.
Eastlie just begged to say hi to the Elves again!

They found one under the high chair

and one downstairs under the treadmill

and one in the freezer

and one in the mudroom in Papa Nolie's cowboy boots

another one in the basement food storage room

one in the garage on Anita's car

The little girlies got worn out and had to have a snack halfway through! ha

yet another one found on the fireplace
(this one really through them off since there are 3 fireplaces in this house! ha)

Anden's look of confusion on the final clue.
Go to where Mama Anita stores her crafts and Papa Nolie plays guitar

Good thing Taylee figured it out and raced to the basement.
She and Kyrrigan tore open every closet

until they found the stash of christmas sacks!!!

Anden has his ripped open and all the gifts unwrapped in a flash! lol

Taylee always takes her time to admire each thing

Laiklyn and Eastlie are the slowest of the present openers!
Although Laiklyn is pretty close to passing Taylee in speed! lol

Help from cousins!

Then it was back upstairs to go through their stockings!
Yes I did remember to pack our actual stockings from AZ.
You have to be ready if Santa shows up to fill them!

Ryan was so done having to chase Eastlie everywhere.
So she got to open her stocking in the confines of the pack and play! lol
At least Aislynn stayed by her side the whole time
and even ended up in the pack and play with her!

Anden testing out his unicorn snot (aka putty) lol

Aislynn is so sweet to Eastlie.
She just loves the "baby"! lol

Then it was time to exchange gifts under the tree

Then Lynds and I went down and got Grandma Norma to join our fun.
Ahh the black reindeer is all cute and fluffy white! :)

The horses had a nice fluffy white blanket of snow on them too!

Dad was already out plowing neighbor's driveways that morning!
Any excuse to use his tractor lol

More presents with Grandma Norma

It was such a great Christmas morning!
The kids had extra fun doing the festivities with extended family!
We lounged around the rest of the morning.

Then Lyndsay and I made a quick trip up to Idaho Falls to visit Mom for an hour.
The boys held down the fort while we were gone.
They even bundled up all the kids and took them outside to play!
(don't mind that my littles are wearing the wrong snow clothes or actually NO snow clothes in Eastlie's case,
but hey at least they tried lol)

Once we got back it was more lounging and eating and playing!
Overall it was a very successful Christmas in snowy Idaho!
