Maybe this is our norm now?
To have events ALL DAY LONG on Saturday!
But the kids enjoy it
and so do I!
First we started with a little
Breakfast in Mommy's Bed!
Then I rushed around getting everything ready for the day.
I came back in to check on them.
They were done eating and snuggled into cartoons! lol
Sadly I had to break up their zen moment to head out for the day!
First up:
Anden's Baseball Practice
(yep guess this Little League thing is serious biz! 2/wk practices!)
It was already a GORGEOUS day at 8:30am!
Taylee and I played around the park,
rode scooters,
basked in the warm sun,
ran across the street to the bakery,
then laid in the grass eating our donuts
while watching Anden!
Taylee was climbing the rafters.
Literally.
Anden snuck over for a big bite of his donut in between batting practice!
And back on the field before anyone noticed he juiced up on sugar!
After practice we went home for an hour and relaxed.
Then the kids voted to use their McDonald's gift cards that Grandma Chris
sent them for Valentine's Day.
So off to McD's we went for lunch!
Then we loaded up and went straight to Taylee's basketball game.
As they warmed up we quickly noticed we only had 5 players.
The result of a holiday weekend.
So I kindly offered Anden up as a sub.
Both Anden and Coach Rick immediately accepted.
I became Assistant Coach and sat with the team while watching
our poor little kids get slaughtered!!
But they didn't know and had fun regardless!
Anden thoroughly enjoyed playing in the younger league
and dominating the other kids.
Maybe it's the self esteem boost he needed since his league is really hard!
The only points we had were scored by Anden
and a kid on the other team that shot into the wrong hoop.
But hey it's all about having fun right?! :)
Next:
Anden's Basketball Game #3
As the boys were warming up,
the other coach came over and said the hoops were too low.
Well that's the height that our team had always played on.
So he raised them quite a bit.
Our boys seemed ok until the game started.
Those few inches made quite the difference.
We have such good shooters on our team
yet not a single shot even came close to going in!
However the other team I swear were cranked out of a
NBA protege training camp.
They were beyond awesome!
So we immediately got into quite a hole
that we spent the entire game digging out of!
By the 2nd half our team had adjusted their shots to the higher rims
and the ball started swooshing in again!
It was a tough game and we made a good comeback
but still fell short.
What do you bet we'll be practicing this week on higher hoops?!
Anden's only shot of the game
Those boys played so hard!
Good thing they had 9 players and were able to sub a lot!
After the game,
we drug our weary selves to the car.
(Yes including me! My back/butt were killing from sitting on hard bleachers for 2 hrs!)
It was definitely time to relax.
And after all this it was only 2pm!
Unfortunately it was just me that was tired!
Mommy play outside! Mommy jump on tramp with us! Mommy ride bikes with us!
So the day continued on.
Next thing we knew we were heading back to the Community Center
to go swimming with Mortensens.
Ryan was the only fool adult that actually got in the water.
And got mauled by 6 kids.
Ashley, her sister, her mom and nieces!
We headed home from the pool in time to get the boys ready
for their big Boys Night Out!
Tyler's employer has a suite at US Airways
and therefore he gets free tickets to all sorts of events.
At the last minute Tyler and Ryan decided to take Anden & Crew to
see the WWE event!
I made one rule before I agreed...
that they promise to teach the boys that they CAN'T use their new-found
skills on their sisters afterwards! lol
Deal.
So off they went.
Taylee and I thoroughly enjoyed our boy free time! :)
And apparently the boys did the same without the girls.
Ryan took these pictures!
They little boys had a blast and I guess were totally enthralled!
I was just happy they were up safe in a suite
and not ring side!!
Their excitement carried right over to the drive home! lol
