President's Day

Another "holiday"
means another freebie play day!

It's been beautiful outside.
Breakfast on the patio it is!

We played in the backyard for a long time!
The boys beat each other up with balls on the trampoline
while the girls played in the sandbox!

Then we ventured out on a huge bike ride all around Anthem!
(yes my butt still hurts!!)

First we went to Liberty Bell park behind the house.
What we came upon wasn't at all expected.
A little 6 yr old girl had fallen off the monkey bar/swing thing and was laying
motionless on the ground while the Firemen were working on her.
The little girl was conscious now but couldn't move.
Ugh my entire heart and body sank!
The firetruck, ambulance, police cars and eventually helicopter arrived.
I couldn't hold back the tears
as I explained to the kids how quickly fun can turn into danger.

We watched from a distance and said a prayer for the little girl
as they placed her on the board then stretcher
and wheeled her into the helicopter that had landed in the middle of Liberty Bell road.
We don't know what the outcome was.
But the kids asked again at bedtime if we could include her in our prayers.
And so we did.

After that somber event,
we decided to pedal on to the Mortensens house.
We visited them for a bit then took the long way back to our house.
We made sure to go past Sonic
and stop in for some treats!

Then it was back to our pedal power to find our way home!
Yes Ryan even texts while skates!

We were worn out from our huge bike ride.
So we relaxed at home.
Worked on a few organization projects
(aka the dang garage!)
then made our way back to the pool to cool off!

Anden was busy playing with some boys he met.
So Taylee and I hung out.
She cracks me up.
Mommy take my picture!
And the onslaught of poses ensued
even from in (or under) the water! lol

We finally warmed up by playing hot/cold with the diving sticks in the grass.
Then we packed up and headed home.
Only to change and head to Red Robin for dinner!

We LOVE extra "stay at home days"
(as we lovingly call them!)

Hope you had a great President's Day as well!
