After we recuperated from the Ward Breakfast
we busted out a good 'ole fashioned Slip 'n Slide.
I think the last time we played on a Slip 'n Slide Taylee was Laiklyn's age.
I assured Ryan that Taylee absolutely loved it back then
so I was sure Laiklyn would too.
Oh.How.Wrong.I.Was!
She HATED it! lol
She is definitely her OWN personality
and will not be swayed by popular opinion.
Oh well you can't please everyone!
To her credit she was coming down with a nasty cold...
But who am I kidding,
she would have still hated it.
But don't you worry we forced her to still enjoy the family activity anyway!
It took 10 seconds on her own before the arm waving begging to pick me up began
Oh Taylee - I assume you're shading yourself from the sun while still keeping cool?
So we gave Laiklyn a break
and the big kid races began
(yes complete with a patriotic start flag)
Yes the kids talked me into it also.
And I was immediately reminded that I'm way too old for Slip 'n Slides!
How does that not break their knees on the hard ground?! lol
Also clearly Taylee made extra sure to beat me and flew off the end of the slide! ha
Next up:
Mommy and Anden Race
Yes I lost that one too.
My kneecaps were still recovering from the previous race
Daddy and Laiklyn cheered us on
while guzzling a bottle
Racers Pose...uh take 5
Then we decided it was Laiklyn's turn again.
We crossed our fingers that it would go better this time!
Um nope.
Same result.
Luckily Anden cheered her up
And shared his water gun with her
while we turned the spraying water off
Suddenly she decided maybe she did like this activity after all
Oh those baby rolls!

Happy Birthday America
Party Hats, Guns and all!
