We got up at our usual early time
(thank you Laiklyn)
and got ready and headed down for breakfast.
I just love eating outside
(much to Ryan's dismay in the summer)
and luckily it was still cooler than norm but def humid from the rain storms
that finally hit while we were sleeping!
So we fed birds and admired the beauty
while we stuffed our faces full.
Hey we had a big day ahead that we needed fueled for!
And breakfast is not complete without selfies requested by Taylee.
Ryan took Laiklyn back up to the room for her morning nap
while the older kids and I played Challenges.
(our homemade game where I think of random things for them to complete)
Walk across the pond without getting your clothes wet
(shockingly they didn't get wet!)
Walk the "balance beam" without falling in
Do three cartwheels in the grass,
Run to the other side of the grass and back,
and on and on to keep them entertained while Laiklyn caught a few zzz's
After an hour we headed back up to the room to get Ryan and Laiklyn
and then down to the Golf Club.
Again I was a tad nervous how in the world we were going to golf
with an ultra busy baby
or really how the heck we were going to sneak her onto the course.
But rest assured we figured out both!
And had an awesome time! :)
Ryan and Taylee were in one cart
Anden and I were in the other cart
with Laiklyn bouncing in between both carts
We would just sit her on on each tee box and let her play and roam
and eat tees or bugs or weeds or even leftover sunflower seed shells
(yes I know ewh I ripped those out of her mouth)
while we all teed off.
Then we scooped her up and into the carts we went.
Anden's golf form was a little rusty at first.
I guess he's played too much baseball! lol
But he quickly adjusted and did great!
Taylee plays about every 3 holes.
She's content to just chat and laugh and drive the cart.
Laiklyn even got to golf too!
But she would rather roam and look for debris to eat.
Exhibit A and B below
Anden was my chauffeur half of the day while we took turns juggling Laiklyn.
She's actually a really good driver!
(and yes we were that sweaty from the heat and humidity!)
Anden and I had a system going where I would drive him right up to his ball
and he would line up, lean over and smack it without even having to get out of the cart! lol
I call it efficient golfing.
But his fave would be when we saw mushrooms.
I'm sure he loved crushing those more than his ball!
We love quality family time!
And this year I didn't even run over my camera with my golf cart
after our family self timer pic! :)
We managed to fit in 9 holes before Laiklyn started to fall apart.
So we called it a day and headed to the pool to cool down!!
Laiklyn was so good chilling in the lazy river with us
and watching her crazy siblings!
I went over to the restaurant and ordered us lunch.
Little baby fell asleep the second I put her in the stroller.
Perfect timing.
She slept while we ate on the patio.
Then we headed over to a different pool and the splash pad.
She had a blast in the splash pad area.
Now her secret is out though that she actually doesn't mind water splashing on her.
Guess now I don't know what her slip 'n slide phobia was after all!
And then the Laiklynator let me know
SHE WAS DONE!
So on that note we decided it might be time to head home.
While I was gathering our stuff together
I did notice Ryan and Anden using the pool debris catcher thing from the hot tub
to try to catch a catfish out of the big pond.
Lovely now I KNEW it was time to leave
before we were forced to leave.
We love little family vacations
whether near or far!
And Happy Birthday Babe!!
