For Ryan's birthday I booked a staycation
at our favorite local resort.
Then I decided to really make Ryan's day by
adding in 2 tee times.
However one was just for him and friends
while the other would be for the family.
He was thrilled and gathered up friends for his big day out.
The forecast called for rain storms the entire weekend.
But we took a chance anyway!
So as the men took off on the course
the kids and I hung at the pool.
Well at the last minute we decided to bring the Hill kids with us.
So yes I had 5 kids for 4 hours alone while
Ryan had his responsibility free man date.
(Hey he deserved a break so it worked out well!)
The kids were actually super good and we had a great time as well!
I was a tad nervous how this little getaway would be this time with a baby in tow.
But Laiklyn was a trooper and did great.
We played in the pools and lounged in the lazy river.
Then we decided to join in the sponge relay race.
It's the first time that I could put Laiklyn in her stroller and actually take some pics.
The older kids took this sponge relay very seriously! ha

And back through the order again!
It was close but their team lost...both times!
The kids weren't happy to say the least.
Until I reminded them we have several pools waiting for us.
Moods quickly changed and back to swimming we went!
The girlies eventually took a pit stop at our chairs to relax
while the crazy boys kept going down the water slide.
Finally we headed back into the room
to shower and get ready for dinner.
Of course we hit up the Smores Station prior to dinner.
Hey we needed a snack to tie us over.
(and to kill time waiting for Ryan to finish golfing!)

What do you expect when you hold a marshmallow close to its' beak?
Duh it wants to lick off every bit of sticky ooey goodness!
And oddly at that same time Ryan and his entourage drove by in their golf carts
on the other side of the pond!
One more hole to go and then we could all meet for dinner!!
Hopefully Anden doesn't lose another digit by then.
Laiklyn even got a smore.
Hers consisted only of a scrumptious graham cracker!
Then it was off to a fancy dinner....with 5 kids.
Yes we were the stare of the restaurant.
Or maybe it was just Laiklyn they were staring at
after she managed to get more food on the floor than all of us had on the table!

Then the kids wanted to soak their legs in the hot tub.
Which of course somehow ended up with Anden falling in...in his clothes.
Laiklyn was so tired but such a good little girl just hanging with us big kids!
Well that so called forecast of rain....luckily never hit us!!
It was just nice and overcast (ok super dark ominous clouds) all day long with somewhat cooler temps
instead of the sun directly melting your skin off.
Made for an awesome July afternoon of golf for the boys
and an fabulous somewhat cool breezy night!
However the "wind" was just too much that they had to move
all the nighttime pool activities back inside the ballrooms.
The kids begged to go to the Wii Dance Party.
So that's just what we did!
Yes I got suckered into dancing with the kids.
And yes I'm just that talented that I did it while holding a baby too.
And yes our song was YMCA!
I noticed while posting these pictures that it apparently
wasn't just Anden that fell into the hot tub!
Owen's shorts are soaked too!
But at least he didn't fall in to his armpits! lol
Taylee just cruised around that ballroom thinking it was her personal playground!

Finally at 9pm the Hills' Dad met us out front and took them home.
Ryan and Laiklyn headed back to the room
while Taylee begged for a few more dances.
So back to the Dance Party we went.
She found some new friends there and thus relieved me of my dancing duties!
Eventually we snuck back up to the room too and crashed asleep!
Such a fun day!
