Idaho Vacation - Day 4

Date: June 22nd

The previous night I was SO tired
from a teething non sleeping baby
and just staying up too late with family for too many nights in a row.
So I finally decided to take Lyndsay's advice she always tells me
and to turn my ringer/volume off while I sleep.
She always thought it was odd I left it on.
My reply was well you just never know if someone needs to get a hold of you.
She jokingly (ok seriously) said sleep was always more important! lol

Well that morning I went from a peacful ahhh I finally got a good night's sleep
to complete utter panic.
There were 4 missed calls and 8 text message by 7am.
That's right.
Lyndsay's water broke at 1am and she was in the hospital having this baby
5 weeks early!!!
I guess it isn't an old wives tale that flying late in your pregnancy
can induce labor.  Oops!

And I guess it also isn't an old wives tale that emergencies do happen
the one time you turn your ringer off at night!

So I spent the first few waking hours on the phone
catching up on the news and coordinating with family to make sure they were ok.
We all said a little prayer that Baby Graven would be ok too.

My mom had planned a get together for all the kids and grandkids that day.
But now she was in the car driving to Vegas to help with Kyrrigan
while they were in the hospital.
That was supposed to be my job.
But who knew Lyndsay would go into labor
while I was still in Idaho and couldn't get to Vegas.
So thankfully Mom was available to head on down there instead!

So it was bittersweet still having our family get together
but without Mom now
and also knowing that Lynds was in the hospital having this baby!
But hey at least the rest of us were all together rooting for her and waiting for updates!

So we met Luke/Mel/kids and Nate/Laura/kids
up at Rexburg Rapids
for a super fun afternoon of swimming
while intermittently checking our phones for baby news!

Taylee seriously thought she could take Brylee down! lol

Jeslynn is a skinny little toothpick
although a strong one!
She packed Laiklyn around on her non existent hip as much as she could!

There was a super cool climbing wall.
I have no idea why no arizona pools have caught on to this yet!
Everyone loved it!
I'm pretty sure Taylee spent most of her day hanging on this thing!

Anden and Ryan racing

The women and babies took it easy on the pool edges!

This is a Where's Waldo picture!
I have 6 relatives throughout the pic!
Can you find them? lol
(hint: one is under water!)

They had a super cool waterslide that shot you out the end!
They loved it!

Brylee blasting out

Luke performing his levitating routine

Graceful Ryan purposely soaking the lifeguard

Anden's too quick I missed him each time!

That splash is Taylee lol

Oh I guess Luke's butt does sink (sink not stink, but ya that too!) like the rest of ours after all lol

Don't ask me how he's the only one that doesn't shoot out straight.
The lifeguard learned to brace for impact when she saw Ryan coming!

Noah decided to take his first ever water slide run!

Ryan and Laura right there to rescue and congratulate him!

Back to the rock wall
Apparently Jeslynn inherited Luke's levitating skills also!

It wouldn't be a fam gathering if Ryan didn't somehow
hurt his monster feet.
This time he somehow broke a toenail in half on the rock wall.
I kindly told him if he ever trimmed those claws that might not happen! lol ;)

Cartwheelin' Taylee
She never stops.
Just beware at all times for a foot to fly up and hit you in the chin.

About this time we all got the text...

Aislynn Joseph Graven
had joined the family
5 lbs 11oz!!!

And no her middle name isn't Joseph.
Aaron sent the text and he's always quite the jokester.
Sadly Dad believed him and told several people that day
the name of his new niece! lol

Cutie Tiny Mia and Nate
Seriously she's 17 mos and 17 lbs!!
Laiklyn is 10 lbs and 22 lbs!
Um can you say opposite ends of the spectrum!

Family Pic!
This is 3 of the 6 siblings and our kiddos!
One more nephew soon to join the family in August also!

As we're packing up to leave
Nate finally gave in to his intense desire
to climb that dang rock wall that had been taunting him all day!
You see he's the only real rock climber amongst us anyway!
So he let down his hair (literally) and scaled that thing!

Then we finally loaded up and head back to Luke's house.
We had a yummy dinner there
and then headed to Brylee's softball game.
I think I saw the rest of the kids once the whole game.
They just roamed and played.

Laiklyn was falling apart and it was time to say our goodbyes.
These two were devastated they had to separate.
They sat there and hugged for like 10 mins straight.

Ahh brought a tear to my eye.
I too remember being so sad to have to leave my cousins when I was younger.
But we finally peeled them apart and got Taylee in the car.

Then Ryan pulled out and
hit a wooden telephone pole
in Dad's cadillac.
And yet again another tear came to my eye.

Strike 2 for the Taylor Harbecks!
But this time it wasn't Anden with his tail between his legs
when he had to own up to Papa Nolie! lol
