Redneck Chauffer

Date: April 11th

Ryan took the kids out in the Ranger Sunday night
to tear up the mud from it raining all day.
I actually would have loved to join them
but I was at a Scout Pinewood Derby planning meeting.

He had left the Ranger on our driveway that night
instead of the backyard.

So the next morning the kids were begging for me to take them to school
in that instead of our usual walk, scooters, skateboards, bikes.

I finally relented and loaded them up.
Then in my work clothes I climbed into that
muddy stinky camouflage 6x6 beast
and tried to smile and overlook the fact
that I clearly did not fit the description of its driver/owner.

The kids LOVED the VIP treatment as I dropped them off at the school corner.
Laiklyn screamed when I made her come sit in the front with me on the drive home.
(she honestly thinks she's old enough to sit back there by herself...um kid you're 1.5 years old!)
Anden begged that I pick them up after school again in it.

So I rushed home from work per my usual routine.
Hopped back into that beast in my heels and drove the half a block
to park along the curb in the school pick up line.
At that point I realized how incredibly awkward I stuck out.
I was lined up with all the fancy SUVs
and then my redneck mobile smack in the middle.
I literally kept my head down pretending I was super busy on my phone. lol

Once the bell rang and the kids came rushing out
my popularity status shot back upwards.
Good thing the 12 and younger crowd think this Redneck Chauffer is the coolest!
Half of our neighborhood begged for rides home.

So we look the max load of kids and loudly revved away
leaving exhaust clouds and mud sprays behind us.

Hey a little diversity in this town might not be a bad thing after all! lol

And after that we ended up taking them to school
almost every day this week in the beast!
They begged each morning.
But I wised up and had Ryan drive them instead
so now he could smell like exhaust all day long at work instead of me! :)
