Location: Island Park

It literally didn't stop snowing the entire time we were in Island Park!
It was those thick soft flakes,
no wind,
warm temps.
Each morning we woke to 8+ more inches of powder.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Sunday morning we decided to join the locals for church.
This was our official "Christmas Sunday"
since we would be in a plane heading back to AZ next Sunday.
So we loaded up in Papa Nolie's truck
and busted our way through the un-plowed snowy roads
until we found the wintery white church building!
We had to laugh that one of the speakers was a local resident
who recently returned from his mission in
Phoenix, AZ.
He was having climate adjustment issues too!
We took a quick pic after church.
Then loaded back up in the truck
where Papa Nolie irreverently spun cookies in the church parking lot
just like every kid at heart wants to. :)
Then it was back to playing outside!
We drove around to the other edge of the lake by the Lakeside Resort
and explored some more!
Papa Nolie even took the kids down on the icy lake.
I watched from a safe distance.
Until I realized if they fell through I wasn't close enough to help.
So I marched on down there too and prayed with each step!
Then we found a cool log building and took shelter!
Dad corrected me that the kids should be inside the jail rather than outside.
Oh no no,
I know exactly what I'm doing...locking myself in here safely!

Eventually we hiked our way out of there
before we got snowed in!
Back inside the warm cabin!
Finally the snow clouds lifted and the sun came out.
What a beautiful site overlooking the back deck and lake!
Since this was our last nighthere (sniff sniff),
we decided to venture out on a cold night time sled ride!
Ok so maybe just the kids were crazy enough to sled!
Then it was quickly back inside to warm up!
Brylee had left one of her DS games,
so Anden went on a mission to conquer it!
