The Joy of Christmas Lights

Up on the Housetop

Two men worked.

Bringing joy 

to all the girls and boys!

(while even forcing a smile that they were actually enjoying themselves up there! lol)

And yes two little wives sat in comfy chairs on the front lawn

micromanaging complimenting them along their way! :)

I remind them each year how lucky they are to be putting up lights in 75 degree sunny weather.

Because where I grew up it was 20 degrees 

and the light strands were literally frozen

along with your hands

and the staple gun

and the light hooks

and the glue gun.

That was when we really saw the "Clark Griswald" side of our Dad.

From the look on the mens' faces, 

I must have sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher when I recounted this story.

(bla bla bla bla bla)

When we came home later that night.

My whole body lit up at the sight of our glowing home

with perfectly placed little Christmas light bulbs!!

Unfortunately our neighbors were lit up too.

Hhmm are these things brighter than last year?!?
