One afternoon after wearing out playing on the sprinkler trampoline,
the kids and Ryan decided to go catch some Quails.
As usual they hopped right over the back fence into the wash
(once Ryan secured our drainage holes in the back fence last summer as tight as Fort Knox we don't get inundated with bunnies, quails, snakes, etc anymore in our yard.)
Once they were on the animal hunt,
I headed inside to cool down and change for the next event.
They came in through my bedroom patio door a bit later
with mischievous grins ear to ear.
"Mommy look what we found!! Can we keep them?!"
Seeing their pure excitement,
I trustingly looked inside the cups
and jumped a mile away while screaming
"GET THAT OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW!!!"
They all thought this was pretty dang funny for some reason.
I still have the jeebees thinking of that gross tarantula.
As for the baby quail,
of course it's beyond adorable and I know how badly Anden wanted to keep it.
But I sent them back out to the wash to return it to it's family.
No baby should ever be away from it's Mother.
Human or Animal.
But we did get our share of oohs and ahhs before taking it home!
So what did your kids (AND HUSBAND!) bring home to you today?
