It's Spring Break for the kiddos!
So that means one thing!
Beach Time!
Off to Mexico we go!!!!
These cuties were so excited that they immediately put their floaties
and swim robes on as soon as they woke up! lol
We took a morning break from packing to scooter to the park and play!
Eastlie just thinks she is as old as the big kids.
No more strollers for her.
She's just as fast on her scooter as they are!
I swear each time I think she's just gonna fly off and eat pavement.
But nope she's totally in control and cruises along!
Well if you notice in the pictures above there are cones in the street.
They were repaving our neighborhood streets that day.
I had gotten a notice on my door the day before saying they would be starting on our street
sometime this day.
Of course no times were given though.
So I had texted Ryan at work that we were probably going to get trapped in our driveway
once they started paving our street.
So he hauled home from work and we were packing up as fast as we could.
He was outside loading the RZR on the trailer
when the asphalt truck came by.
He asked them how much longer until they would be in front of our house.
They told him 20 minutes....and then after that we couldn't drive on the street for FOUR hours!
He came running inside,
"Katie can we be loaded and out of here in 20 mins?!"
(which was WAY earlier than I had expected to leave)
"Umm maybe why?"
"Because if not we'll be trapped in the driveway!!"
"OK 20 minutes it is everyone!!!!!!"
lol and then we all went into crazy panic mode running around throwing the rest of the
stuff in bags and out in the car!
Guess what, by golly we pulled out of the house within 20 minutes
and beat those dang asphalt guys! lol
Not far into the drive Ryan swore something was wrong with our tires.
It was shaking a bit.
Well he deemed it the "death wobble".
I didn't quite agree it was that bad lol
I assured him that odds are it's just from pulling the huge trailer and RZR.
Our automatic air pressure leveler thing had just gone out awhile ago.
So clearly the car wasn't as level as it should be to pull something so heavy.
But nope, he didn't agree with my theory.
So when we got to Gila Bend (armpit town of AZ)
he decided to go from small tire shop to tire shop to figure out the problem
while also calling in for warranty repair on the tires.
The tire shop couldn't see anything wrong.
They kindly told him however that he loaded the RZR too far forward
and it needed to be more in the middle to distribute the weight better.
For the record I kindly pointed that out also when he pulled out of the backyard
with it all loaded and the back of the escalade was about scraping the ground!! lol
But hey what do I know? I'm only a country girl who's Dad was always towing something!
So the nice tire shop guys helped him rearrange the RZR while me and the kids
tried to stay quiet and patient in the car!
I figured he wasn't in the mood to hear my,
"Uh honey I might know the problem.." comments! lol
So there we sat...for an hour...in the car...not moving.
Needless to say I appropriately picked my shirt for this road trip!
I figured I might need some positive reinforcement! haha
(meanwhile Anden's face in the background shows how we really felt! HAHA)
Finally we decided to just try our luck and started the rest of the drive to Mexico.
I figured hey if the Escalade blows up, at least we can just unload the RZR
and continue on! haha
Even Eastlie was drowning her road trip whoas!
We just stayed behind another similar rig most of the way.
Figured they would feel our misery if we broke down! lol
Well luckily we made it to the resort safe and sound!!
Just an hour behind schedule!
The sun had already set.
So we quickly unloaded and then the bigs and I went exploring the low tide and super moon!
Then back upstairs to bed!
Long day but totally worth it!!
