Dec 20th - Idaho Christmas Trip

Date: Dec 20th

Today was the Christmas Sunday Service at church.
So we got ready and headed out with Dad and Grandma Norma.

Anden brought his drone from AZ.
It was one of the few Christmas gifts that made the trip!

After church and lunch,
Ryan and Laiklyn crashed for naps.
Ryan was still battling the tummy bug.
So the older kids and I went out to play.
They built a snow fight barrier for their upcoming war with Ryan.

They were pretty proud of their protective structure!

Then it was back to sledding!

When Ryan woke up he felt decent enough to switch me and drive the kids around sledding.
They're in the distance behind the Royal Snow Guards.

Laikster got to join in on the fun too

My little Royal Snow Guards!

Laiklyn was getting a bit braver about walking in the snow.
But she still wasn't sold on this whole thing

Or why the snow creatures were taller than her!

Finally it was time for the Snow War.
I kept my distance!
Laiklyn got away from me and was hit by friendly fire.

We then loaded up and headed into town to go to the Live Nativity.
Luke, Mel and the kids were meeting us there.
Our kids were bouncing off the wall with pure joy to see their cousins!!

Boarding the horse drawn hay ride

All bundled up with an over max capacity load of humans

Laiklyn had her usual meltdown of not having free reign to run
while also still adjusting to the restraint of snow clothes!

At least these nuts were all still happy!

We stopped every 100 ft or so to see each scene of the Nativity
...while also getting nearly bucked off the hay ride from the jumpy horses!
(maybe that's the current spin on keeping the Nativity story trending?!)

We soon realized why they jam packed us onto that hay ride.
The humans banging into each other was the only thing that kept us from falling off!
But A for effort for using real horses instead of motors to pull that ride!
Maybe don't feed them energy drinks next time though! ;)

We headed back into the ramada for hot cocoa and cookies and to listen to the live music!
I just love small town events!
This was a non denominational community event that was free to the public
and as authentic of "small town" as you can get!
There was manure still fresh on the cowboy boots and winter overalls
and plenty of chatting with everyone that knows everyone.

They had local groups do different musical performances.
Jeslynn and Taylee were in love with the youth violin group.
Quit honestly I was too!
The little ones on the end were completely adorable!

Anden enjoyed it too...contrary to his look!

And Laiklyn also!

We finally marched on out of there, grabbed some dirty snow to nibble on
and headed back home.
