At 7pm we headed out for our Idaho adventure.
We were all hungry for dinner.
So we pulled into In & Out for adults
and Taco Bell for kids.
Well about 30 mins later I questioned the brilliance of that idea
as my stomach was a mess.
I assumed dinner hadn't settled well with me.
So we pulled over in Wickenburg, 45 mins from home.
And I soon found out that it wasn't In & Out that made me sick.
It was a strategically timed bout of the flu/tummy virus
that decided to hit me on a 13 hour drive!!!
Are you freaking kidding me?!??!
I rarely ever get sick
and never get the flu!
But don't you worry.
It hits me at the worst possible time.
We specifically drive during the night so the kids will quietly sleep
and we won't have to stop every hour for pee breaks.
But wouldn't you know it...
we were now stopping every 2 hours at gross gas stations
so that I could puke out both ends.
Lovely.
Which in turn woke up the kids every 2 hours.
Can you say this was the most miserable 13 hours of my life?!?!
Ryan usually drives the whole way while I catch as much sleep as possible
and then when we arrive he goes straight to bed while I entertain the kids.
Well this time we were both awake all night with me taking 10 min naps
here and there until I needed to pull over and die again.
We did manage to take an "on the road" pic before the first puke stop in Wickenburg.
We were still all smiles at this point.
Well ok maybe not Ryan! lol
The kids were all happily settled in.
Even Laiklyn was clutching her blankey and sippy while zoned into her movie
The flash blinding us was great for the driver.
Maybe he can blame that for his near head on collision that occurred 10 mins later! UGH
It only went downhill from here.
Literally we had to run off the road and down into the desert in order to avoid a head on crash!
And that was only 20 mins from home.
25 mins later the puking began.
Hhmm maybe we should have just turned around?!
But oh no we're gluttons for punishment and trudged on!
Gosh Dangit we were going to good 'ole Idaho for Christmas no matter what!
