Friday was the kids last day of school.
And it was only a half day!
And pajama day!
And pajama day!
So they were definitely bouncing off the walls with excitement.
They had asked Santa to come tonight so that we could leave tomorrow for Idaho!
Well to their total utter surprise,
Santa came while they were at school!!!
In fact he came in the 20 mins Ryan, Laiklyn and I left the house
to walk and pick up the kids then walk back home from school!!
We came back to the house and found this on the front door!
I have to admit that it took way longer than I expected
for their little brains to figure out what this meant.
I thought Santa was pretty clear with his note.
But I guess it really took the kids by surprise! lol
Once we reconfirmed to them 3 times that
YES this means Santa really did come,
then they were off rushing to find all the clues!
Laiklyn excitedly ran along with them with no knowledge of what was going on lol
Anden and Taylee alternated who read each clue
and then bolted to find the next one.
They darted all through the house and backyard gathering the clues!
Finally the last clue sent them back outside...
And there hidden in plain sight behind the BBQ island were the coveted Santa bags!!!

Anden doesn't mess around and tore into his.
Taylee took her time.
Laiklyn still had no clue what was going on! ha
Finally Ryan started to help Laiklyn
But she was more interested in what Anden was doing
or what Taylee was doing
or the knobs on the BBQ
Santa totally shocked Taylee with a new custom built Lucky scooter!
Anden kept working away on his Santa bag
while Laiklyn kept playing with the BBQ
Finally I stepped in to help guide Laiklyn to her actual gifts!
Laiklyn discovered that bag actually did have interesting things in it.
Meanwhile Anden uncovered his electric skateboard!
And then he was done and off to inspect Taylee's goods.
We worried how long it would take for him to be super jealous about her scooter.
Luckily he was cool with her getting a Lucky scooter like his.
Then Taylee uncovered her coveted salami.
lol you would think she unwrapped gold!
Little Laiky got a scooter too!
But she just cared about the wrapping paper!
I think Santa had a great idea to move the Christmas mess outside this year! ha
Laiklyn got her own tablet to break...instead of our electronics! :)
Once they demolished their Santa bags it was off to test out the toys!
Then back inside to tear into the presents under the tree!
The older kids sorted the presents
and immediately found that Santa left a family gift under the tree
Anden was thrilled to find an Xbox 360 and a bunch of games.
That means Mom relented and finally allowed a game system at our house!
We're finally 2002 around here! lol ;)
Anden and Taylee picked the next gifts they wanted to open.
They were from Ryan.
New bb guns to use in the backyard!
Apparently we can't have enough guns around here!
Laiklyn just roamed and did her own thing during present time.
She's perfectly content to do her own thing! lol
Then it was mass present opening time.
I usually try to make only one open at once so we can all see and appreciate
before it gets tossed aside for another present.
So we halfway managed to do that!

Laiklyn decided to take over Taylee's blanket
After all the presents were demolished from under the tree,
we found out that Santa had left Ryan something outside too!
So the kids raced outside to find it!
A new cruiser bike!
I guess Santa knew Ryan's self image was tarnished from constantly
riding my hot pink/yellow cruiser bike to pull Laiklyn in the bike trailer! lol

Yes I did question the safety of holding Laiklyn and a blanket!
But he pulled it off nicely lol
Then it was back inside to play with toys!
Ahhh the explosion of Christmas!
Some people love the aftermath
but I personally break out into hives when I see the mess! lol
I spy Taylee in that mess! lol can you find her?
Then it was back outside to test out the new electric skateboard!
I was hoping Santa also gave Anden a free hospital pass with that thing
considering it goes up to 10mph with nothing to hold you onto the board.
Lovely.
One little rock in the road and he'll be catapulted into the neighbor's house.
Good thing he's abnormally well coordinated!

And swapping gifts!
Don't worry I had Ryan run alongside with Taylee.
Skateboards aren't her expertise.
But she did great too.
Anden realized he digs a purple and pink scooter! ha
But Taylee made her sure to let him know that one was hers!!
So while the kids played outside I scrambled to finish packing all the suitcases.
Then I took Taylee and rushed over to Build a Bear to fulfill one of her gifts!
Then it was back home to fill up every square inch of room inside the car.
And we finally loaded up and headed out for Idaho!!
