Early Christmas Gift

Date: Dec 9th

I've been on a mission for a few months to redo our side yard.
My end goal is having a pool built.
But while I waited for bids from companies
I started searching for different pieces I wanted to add to the yard.
Now you know me I hate paying full price for anything.
Which means I really had to hone in my searching skills on this one.

Well a couple months ago I had found the outdoor sectional I wanted.
And we immediately snatched that up before it was gone.
Then I moved my searches towards a BBQ island.
I quickly realized how dang expensive those were
(or really anything backyard related!!)

Well I found a great deal on one that was a couple years old.
I hurried and forwarded it to Ryan and told him this would be gone in a day!
So we jumped on it.
A few bad things...it was in Queen Creek...83 miles one way to be exact.
And although it was at a custom home/yard on 2 acres
they had enclosed that section of yard with walls and no RV gates.
So that meant we would have to hire a crane just to get it out of their backyard.
Well that didn't stop me.
I was on a mission....which meant Ryan was forced to complete my mission! haha

So he scheduled the crane
and loaded up the trailer
and not so happily took off for the day's mission.
I anxiously awaited texts/pics to see if I had made a huge mistake! lol

I was getting updates that this was WAY more work than anyone anticipated.
Uh Oh.
Then these pics started coming in.
O.M.G. didn't quite think it would be this big of a production! lol oops

So Ryan hauled that thing another 83 miles back home
and backed it straight into the side yard.
Where it sat for 3 days.
He assured me it would take at least 10 guys to simply move it off the trailer and sit it down.

So we waited until that Saturday to attempt to move it.
Ryan wasn't too pleased that we were doing this out of order
since we didn't even have the foundation laid for it.
But I reminded him that good deals don't wait for our timeline
and we had to just jump on it and buy it.
Then we'll figure out the rest! lol

Well luckily we have a ton of friends from church.
So after a few texts
12 guys showed up Saturday morning.
Ryan had hooked the Ranger (yes another early Christmas present!)
to the trailer and hauled it all over to the far side yard where it would be lifted off.
I kept doubting that it would really take that many guys.
Ryan assured me again that 12 guys might not even be enough.
This beast really was that heavy.

So all the guys figured out the best plan and started the move.
Normally I would have taken a picture
but I honestly went inside and hid just in case they came to beat me for this! lol
It took them a good hour to simply get it lifted off the trailer and placed 1 foot away!!
But by golly they did it!
Now we owe them all a bbq party!

So we're far from over but one step closer to an "entertainment" side yard!
I love the way it looks in the space and can finally start to visualize the end goal!

(and yes I conveniently avoided the topic that we'll have to do this all over again to lift it out of there
in order to install pavers/foundation.....ugh oops! lol)
