First Day of School

First Day of School

Anden
1st Grade - Mrs. Tryon
Ridgeline Academy

Taylee
Kindergarten - Ms. Lisa
Creative Castle Kindergarten

Ahh the joys and stresses of the first day of school.
I'm determined it's way harder on the parents
than it is the kids.

Leading up to the big day,
we bought all their supplies, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc, etc!

Then I made sure they got spiffy new hair cuts.
Taylee volunteered to go first.

Anden wasn't thrilled about losing his luscious blonde locks.
(I actually loved his little summer surfer do as well!)
But he needed it trimmed for school.

I was very nervous as I'm used to cutting short spiky boy hair.
There's really no way to screw that up.
But this was different.
His requirement was that the front still be able to tuck behind his ears. lol
So I took a deep breath
and chopped off 2-3 inches from the back!

He was in a bit of shock when he reached back and couldn't feel his curls.
But we all survived!

It had been an EXTREMELY stressful and emotional week leading up to the first day of school.
(I'll cover that story in a separate post!)
It was finally here!

The night before I tripled checked the lists.
Made sure the backpacks and lunches were packed.
And prayed everything would go well!

Monday morning I hustled around to finish everything before waking up the kiddos!
One kid popped out of bed cheery as can be.
The other had to be drug out of bed.

Finally we set out to begin the next 10 month journey!

(I think one was a little more excited than the other!)

Anden's school starts at 8am.
It was a mad rush to get him there on time!
(let's just say again that first day of school early morning wake up call didn't get received well!)

We barely got there in time and rushed him into his classroom.
I did manage to get a decent smile out of him before we bid him well.

Then we headed off to Taylee's school.
Which doesn't start until 9am.
But luckily we can drop off at 8:35am.
So only a half hour to kill each day!

Taylee was reveling in her moment of being a REAL Kindergartner!!
She bounced her way on into the classroom.
Ms. Lisa was excitedly there waiting to show her around.

After Taylee had found her friends from dance, that are also in her class,
we no longer existed.
So we made our exit after a couple more pics!

We snuck one last picture through the window as we walked down the hall.
Taylee and Peyton were already chatting each other's ears off! lol

Then I barely made it to my car
before I cried the entire 15 mins to work.

I hate being away from my kiddos.
Even if it's because they are at school.
But I'm SO  proud of them
and know they will have an awesome school year!!
