Idaho Trip - December 21st

Date: December 21st
Location: Island Park, ID

Today was officially Christmas Sunday.
Compete with a foot of fresh new snow outside!
So much for Dad's hard work shoveling the deck!

Taylee was ecstatic to find the Tooth Fairy really did
find her way through the snow to leave her a present!
(she was very concerned the Tooth Fairy wouldn't make it & even blessed her in her prayers!)

We all got ready and braved the storm to get to church!

We made it there safely
and did our best to maintain reverence throughout the meeting.

It was a perfect Christmas Sunday complete with soft falling snow!
So pretty!!

After we took the group shot the kids couldn't help but notice the
MASSIVE snow hill in the middle of the parking lot.
Anden had worn his snow boots to church so I let him dart for the hill.

Taylee begged and begged to join him.
Since she was wearing normal fashion boots I told her no.
She was devastated.
So I said what the heck, we'll just deal with the wet and freezing legs/feet later.
Off she sprinted too in pure joy!

Eventually I had to call them down off that snow mountain!
The would have stayed there all day playing if they could!

Anden threw a snowball at me
so I threw one back.
Right then Dad pulled around in his truck
with the Gravens with him.
He cracked his window a bit to talk to us
(and probably tell us we were crazy for letting kids run waist deep in snow!)
without really thinking it through I hurled a snowball his direction too.
Well apparently it was my best aim ever.
It shot right through his barely opened window and straight into his lap!
(and probably lynds' too who was in passenger seat! lol)
Dad was in cold shock and opened his door like he was gonna
shove me straight into the snow pile with the kids!
I quickly turned this into a compliment towards him
and how his athletic genetics were passed onto me
and how he should be proud of his daughter's throwing arm instead of mad at me!
Haha it worked! :)
He laughed it off.
Quick negotiating has always been a useful skill for me! lol

We loaded up the kids and headed back to the cabin
while listening to Taylee whine about her freezing wet legs and feet.
Hhhmm told you so?

This wee one magically became SO much better today!
No more goopy eyes!!

A quick lunch and then outside to play!

Eventually I decided I was tired of missing the outdoor fun.
Since Laiklyn was feeling better I decided to bundle us up and head out.

Her mood drastically changed once I was hauling her while
knee deep every step in snow to meet the others.
It was snowing even harder now in our faces.
But I was determine to have a happy family snow pic with her in it!

Ok picture = check!
Now take her back inside!

I got to stay out and play.
Do you want to build a snowman?
(or ride our bikes around the halls!)
Yes I got that reply by any and everyone each time
I asked if they wanted to build a snowman!

Aaron: "Taylee come here.  I need to use your head as a brace to build the overhang"
Taylee: "Okay!"

She just sat in her cocoon and ate snow while Aaron worked away! lol

In the meantime Dad and I were building the annual snowman

Let it snow! Let it snow!

Yes that's the ice of the lake right under us!

Our finished snowman!
Oh wait where are his eyes and mouth you wonder?
In Ryan's pocket back inside the cabin!!

Metal shovel rides anyone?
Totally safe!

There is our beautiful faceless snowman
glistening in the rare sunshine!

Mid afternoon soak!

Aunt Lyndsay and Laiklyn gawking at the crazy hot tubbers!

Seeing this was our last night at the cabin,
we talked everyone into going on one last night ride.
So we bundled up and headed out.

And back to the cabin for peppermint hot cocoa and games!
