Usually we have a Gingerbread Party with our friends each year.
This year there was very little time between cleaning up
from Thanksgiving events and then heading to Idaho for Christmas.
So I had decided to forego hosting another party.
Well then the Christmas Party bug just wouldn't leave me
and you know what that means.
A couple of days later and a new party occurred!
However this year we decided to mix it up.
Instead we hosted the first annual
Ugly Sweater Party!
We made this a family event.
What I didn't take into account is that the word "ugly"
wasn't the most appealing to the younger female crowd.
Taylee immediately cringed and declared she didn't want to be ugly!!
Anden then capitalized on the free reign of the word ugly
and told Taylee she was going to be the ugliest
which really was a compliment for this event
but sent Taylee into hysterics
and on
and on.
Then I found out similar occurrences happened at our friends' homes
while they were prepping for the party as well! lol
Needless to say it became the "Silly Sweater Party" for those offended.
We hit up Goodwill and Dollar Tree
and the Ugly/Silly attire was born!
Laiklyn got a free pass to wear something cute! :)
