Along with all the festive excitement and materialism of Christmas.
I also try to help the kids focus on why we really celebrate Christmas.
I have a Nativity set up on our front entry table.
I specifically have it set there so it'll be the first and last thing
we see as we come and go.
Today I walked by and noticed somebody had rearranged it.
My first instinct was to move it back into its proper places.
But then I paused and decided to just leave it.
Later that night I casually asked Taylee
(whom I figured was the culprit)
if she had rearranged the nativity.
She smiled and sincerely replied,
"Well Jesus is a baby and he needed a baby blessing just like Laiklyn"
My eyes welled up with tears while I gave her a huge hug
and told her how thoughtful it was for her
to make sure Jesus was blessed too;
since he continually blesses each of us daily.
Needless to say our Nativity permanently stayed this way.
Sometimes it's the smallest ones that teach us the greatest lessons.
