Anthem Light Parade

Date: Dec 15th

Anthem is seriously the coolest town!
Tonight was the 3rd annual
Anthem Light Parade!
It's for UTVs but even Jeeps were included this year.
Each year we've been busy and couldn't participate.
Anden started asking in November if we could PLEASE be in it this year.
I'm SO glad we did!
It was such an amazing event!!

We spent the afternoon decorating the RZR and making sure everything was ready to go!

Anden and Owen took a break to ride around the block!
Anden in his christmas jammies,
Owen on the pink mini quad!
hahaha

Then it was back to stringing christmas lights!

Finally it was time!
So we loaded up with our blankies and headed out!

Our church offered it's parking lot as the staging area.
I was blown away when we pulled in about 5 mins late and the entire parking lot
was packed with totally decorated off road toys!!
And I always joked that like everyone in Anthem has some sort of UTV.
This proved my theory correct! lol
There were like 190 UTV's in the parade!!

Right when we started I busted out another treat,
christmas lightbulb headbands for everyone!
Ryan just stared at me! haha
He says (without even cracking a smile)
"So you didn't think we were festive enough with lights ALL over the RZR
that you wanted them on our heads too?!!"
OK fine skip you, the rest of us will wear them! :) lol

5 mins into the parade...Laiky was asleep! lol
This kid thinks she's big enough to skip naps
but really she just can't hang without one!

I was totally shocked how many people were lining the streets
waiting to wave and cheer on the parade!
It was seriously such a neat thing!!
The kids loved yelling to friends they saw
and yelling Merry Christmas to everyone!
The parade route weaved in and out of neighbors
rather than staying on main streets.
So it was especially fun for the spectators
as they were just piled up in their own driveways and with friends/neighbors!

I felt bad that Laiklyn was missing out on the fun.
So I finally woke her up to join the party!
(I found out soon after that was a horrible decision as her and Eastlie fought most of the parade!!)

Ryan really was secretly enjoying himself! hahaha
The flash blinded him on this one...or at least that's the story for now!

We cut out of the parade after about 1.5 hours and headed back to see some friends
and then home.
The littles had hit their limit.
The bigs however were still in parade mode.
So the bigs and I loaded back up and picked up some of their friends
and drove around the neighborhood a bit more.
We were freezing so we pulled through the Sonic drive thru and luckily
they sold Hot Cocoa!!
Then it was back home to wait for the dang hot cocoa to cool down so we could drink it! lol

And as usual a soccer game eventually broke out on the Taylor Turf.

The Parade was such a fun festive event!!
It will definitely be added to our yearly list of must do's!
